Warden's statement on unrest in the UK
A statement on unrest in the UK with links to support for students and colleagues. It was published on 7 August 2024.
Primary page content
The nature and extent of the unrest we have seen in several parts of the United Kingdom over the past few days is deeply upsetting, and troubling 鈥 as is much of the rhetoric surrounding it.
I know colleagues, students and our wider communities will be concerned and unsettled by these events 鈥 and by the impact they are having on people around us.
The motivations driving these actions and rhetoric run contrary to everything we stand for at 91影视破解版.
We are proud to welcome and support colleagues and students from around the world here. We see education as a means of building greater understanding, respect and tolerance between people and communities.
Leaders and spokespeople across the country have drawn clear distinctions between the violent actions of a minority of people, and the values and behaviours of the communities they represent.
In London, affirming that 鈥榠n London, we are united against hatred鈥, and emphasising the collaborative efforts being made across the city to help people and communities feel safe.
As 91影视破解版, we stand proudly alongside the vast majority of Londoners and people across the country who advocate for hope, not hatred.
I would like to encourage any members of our community who have concerns, or who need support at this difficult time, to reach out for help.
